How to Participate

So you want to be part of the Ride—great! There are many different ways to participate

Volunteer Crew

We welcome Crew in many capacities on BRAKING AIDS® Ride.

The Crew are our volunteers who support the ride from beginning to end. Crew support the Riders throughout the entire Ride. You’ll have a comprehensive training in advance of the Ride, then be out on the road supporting the Riders on throughout the event.

Throughout the event, you’ll keep the Riders safe and happy as a member of your Crew team. You may be assigned to an Oasis (rest stop) team, or you may drive a Sweep vehicle, or mark the route with signs. We also have specialty teams for medical positions, bike techs, and people who own a motorcycle. Regardless of your interests and abilities, there’s a Crew team for you. First, register as a Crew member; in mid-summer, we’ll ask you for your top assignment choices, and then we’ll place you on your team.

There’s a $125 registration fee for Crew. This helps to defray the cost of supporting you on the event. Although Crew are not required to fundraise, you’re certainly welcome to do so. Some of our Crew raise thousands of dollars each year!
